JAKARTA. Kasikom Bank, or KBank, a Thailand-based banking group, will be the new controlling shareholder of PT Bank Maspion Indonesia Tbk (BMAS), acquiring 67.50% of the shares. KBank is reported as the current owner of 9.99% of Bank Maspion. However, in the near future, KBank will take over 1.33 billion shares of BMAS, equivalent to 30.01% of BMAS, from other original shareholders. They include PT Alim Investindo, PT Maspion, PT Husin Investama, PT Maspion Investindo, Alim Markus, and other individual investors.
